About
Brooke Harnett has been working in film as a freelance Production Designer, Art Director and Costume/Stylist for five years. Brooke studied art and film electives at university then furthered her education, finding her niche in Art Direction at Award School and Production Design at AFTT.
She enjoys working on character-driven films/projects, creating sets and costumes that further develop the psychology of characters and their experiences. She loves the creative process of visual storytelling, working closely with Writers and Directors to ensure the art direction intrinsically represents the storytelling.
She has covered a range of different eras in the 20th-21st century and more experimental worlds including futuristic, post-apocalyptic and the obscurely imagined. She has a keen eye for colour composition, adheres to strict production budgets while still creating detailed sets.
Brooke has worked with some of Australia’s biggest musical artists, combining her passion for music and film. Several short films Brooke has worked on have showcased in international film festivals including Flickerfest, St Kilda Film Festival, Melbourne international Film Festival, Cinequest and Hollyshorts to name a few.
